Cherae Leri is a dynamic singer-songwriter originally from Kansas City, Missouri, making waves in the music scene with her unique blend of R&B and Soul. With over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Cherae began her journey in modeling and acting at just 3 years old. Her passion for music led her to move to Houston, Texas, and eventually to Atlanta, Georgia, in 2015, where she has been honing her sound and connecting with audiences.
Currently residing in beautiful Costa Rica, Cherae’s musical style features a lightweight yet soulful vocal delivery, drawing inspiration from legends like Patti LaBelle, Leela James, and Erykah Badu. A defining moment in her early career was meeting Badu at a Tom Joyner morning show when she was just 12, an encounter that profoundly influenced her artistic journey.
In August 2018, Cherae released her debut EP, “Conscience,” showcasing her growth as a songwriter and performer. The EP features a talented production team, including Chino McGregor, Choppa Zoe, and Randy Lanphear, and is highlighted by the catchy single “Way Back When.” Released in May 2019, this track features guest vocals from Jayson Echo and has been praised for its nostalgic lyrics and infectious rhythm.
