In 1993 he embarked on a quest to work with artists/entertainers by creating a radio series “Europes Jazz Profiles” aka “EJP”🎼🌴
The concept came from traveling to European festivals seeing how the audiences were amped up about the performers. So he wanted to report from that perspective.
After meeting Keyboard artist/Music Director Bill Jolley, his first artist was Grover Washington,Jr. in June 1993.View Team Member
Before the show at St. Louis’s Ambassador Theatre, Grover enthusiastically entertained Reed and fellow DJ Sheila Reed on his career. Later came Reed’s first “legendary architect” NEA Jazz Master Drummer Chico Hamilton, in 1995 in London. After one of his shows at the Jazz Cafe’ in Leister Square; Chico invited him back to the hotel for an in-depth interview. Then later invited him to complete it at his NY Manhattan penthouse. From there the other legends began to fall into place working with Joe Williams, Nancy Wilson Nat Adderly and more. The series aired in the 90’s in London and St. Louis for a number years on KSLH 91.5 FM
