Midnight Cafe

J Rafeeq Salaam is a native of Philadelphia, PA. He spent much of his youth at and was musically influenced by the sensational Uptown Theater R&B shows (Philly’s Apollo Theater) and one of the most listened-to radio stations in the region, 105.3 WDAS (Philly’s WBLS). Rafeeq is retired from the military and is a serial entrepreneur.

Rafeeq has worked for several years as an announcer for a local radio station in Petersburg, Virginia, which later became a product of Radio One. He loves mixing music that creates the perfect mood for his audience. He currently resides in Virginia & Costa Rica. Rafeeq owns and operates a Virginia-based insurance agency but unequivocally proclaims his passion has always been sitting behind a mic and creating positive vibes through the music. Rafeeq will be hosting the Midnight Café, where he will deliver a blend of sultry jazz and flowing rhythm and blues. You can catch the flow and the feeling every week, Monday through Saturday, from 12 midnight to 5:00 am.
